HyboFOAM® C is a closed-cell rigid foam material based on PMI (polymethacrylimide) and does not contain halogens. The foam pores of the product are small and uniform (0.2 to 0.4 millimeters). Its processing technology can withstand temperatures up to 180°C and pressures up to 0.5 MPa maximum, making it suitable for various curing processes such as hot press, vacuum bagging, RTM, VARTM, VARI, HP-RTM etc.
Due to its excellent surface resin absorption rate, engineers can find a perfect balance between peel strength and lightweight requirements. To meet the processing requirements of different sizes and shapes of workpieces, using HyboFOAM® C can easily adopt hot pressing molding or use various adhesives for bonding or common CNC machine tools for arbitrary processing.
The application range of HyboFOAM® C is also very wide. Generally speaking, it is suitable for most sandwich structure composite components including X-ray/CT machine bedplates, sports equipment, vehicles/high-speed trains or buoyancy devices/fishing floats.
In order to better guide users, we have conducted extensive testing in various aspects, including:
· Moisture absorption performance
· Dielectric constant
· Compression creep
· High temperature mechanical properties
· Coefficient of thermal expansion
· Resin absorption rate
